I recently upgraded my MS Office, its been a while, and I see there are a lot of changes. One function I use to like on older versions of Word was to use the up/down scroll bar arrows to quickly go page by page to review the overall pages of a document I was working on or repeat a search through the document. I see that these scroll bar arrows are no longer shown so my questions are. Is there an option to show the scroll arrows?
Can't seem to find anything. If I can't get this function back, is there something MS can do to get Word to recognize keyboard shortcuts to work properly for this function on the Mac. In other words, this is what I have for a page up/down function: FN + up/down arrow is supposed to be page up/down - more like chunk up/down.
It moves up or down a page to some random line on the next page, sometimes ends up at the top of a page. Construction of scroll bars has been commandeered by Apple. If you're among the multitude dissatisfied with what they've done, don't hesitate to let them know:-) There is nothing in the programs that will restore the former structure or functionality. Since you mention the fn key I'm assuming that you don't have a full keyboard so fn+Up/DnArrow combination evokes PageUp/ PageDown. That basically navigates on the basis of one screen (what fits in the window). It's not realy 'random' but there are a number of variables involved such as font size, window size, Zoom, etc.
Include the Command key in the combination [i.e., fn+Command+Up/DnArrow] to go from the top of one page directly to the top of the next. For more navigation keyboard shortcuts as well as those for other purposes, see on the topic. Please mark HELPFUL or ANSWERED as appropriate to keep list as clean as possible ☺ Regards, Bob J.
Hi all I wasn't sure if this was the right place to ask this (and I apologize if it's been asked and answered already in a different thread) but I figured this tutorial was for pretty much absolute beginners to blender, so it might be good to ask here in case anybody else was wondering too. Is there a trick to keeping your object centered on the screen when rotating and zooming in? I'm finding that if I zoom in to work on something with a ton of vertices, that I'm only seeing part of the object on screen, and if I rotate my view to get a better look at it, it almost hides it even more. I'm having to go back to object mode and physically move the mesh around and then going back to edit mode to zoom in again to get the angle I need. Also, how do you move your camera view without moving your mesh when in edit mode? For example let's say I have 10 vertices selected but there's 16 vertices total on the section I'm working on, but the rest of the vertices are on the other side where I can't see them and I need to rotate my camera around to select the rest. But, whenever I try to rotate my view it pulls the selected vertices out of proportion as I'm rotating my view, so I end up deselecting it all, selecting the entire object with box select, moving the mesh to a different area, deselecting again, and then going back and re-selecting the vertices I need all over again.
